The Blood of Dawnwalker Romance Options

Quick answer: there are three romance options in the launch build — Anca, Lacra and Crake. Each is tied to an optional questline, all three can be pursued in one playthrough with no jealousy penalty, and they do not lock the endings by themselves.

Can you romance multiple characters?

Yes. All three romance questlines are optional and can be completed in a single playthrough without a jealousy or locking penalty. What matters is finishing each character's questline before its deadline and choosing the correct dialogue.

Do romances affect the endings?

They do not decide which of the seven endings you get — the finale is locked by the dialogue choice in A Deal with the Devil. Instead, your romance determines which ally appears beside you in the epilogue. Lacra and Crake double as the allies for the Patricide and Knyazmaker endings.

Romance requirements

  • Anca: complete Page-Turner, Echoes of Silenced Bells, Between the Words, Where Old Devils Lie and Stronger Than Achilles; the romance triggers in the final dialogue choices.
  • Lacra: finish A Friend Like This, Song of the Mountain, Hive and Seek, Our Rotten Roots and The Night of Horrors before Midnight Reckoning; The Night of Horrors must be done before Midnight Reckoning or the romance locks.
  • Crake: reach Infamy 4 to meet him, then The Firebrand, Shadows in the Woods, Where Loyalty Lies, What Hunts the Night, What Moves the Dead, Distant Shadows and A Closer Look; starting Rise at Dawn before Distant Shadows locks the romance.

Missables and time

Each romance is missable if you fail a required quest or miss the timing (for example Lacra's The Night of Horrors or Crake's Distant Shadows window). The 30-day deadline and the time cost of each questline matter, so leave the character routes that support the ending you want a comfortable margin before the finale.
